Making a better toddler lunch
Recently, my 4 year old's school lunch has gotten into a rut. He wanted the same soy butter sandwich or macaroni and cheese each school day. Each time, more and more of it would return home uneaten.I happened to come across a Bento lunch box site called Lunch in a Box. It was everything I had been looking for! I never realized exactly what a bento was till now. The whole concept of a bento is so perfect for a 4 year old -- lunch would consist of a few bites of a variety of foods to keep things interesting. Add the cuteness factor and I was completely sold on the idea. This website was a real inspiration and it got me excited to make my preschooler's lunch. I even ventured farther and made my husband a lunch for work for the first time in 5 years!
Check out my 2nd bento lunch for my preschooler. Fish shaped sandwich with cream cheese, turkey, and cheese. Salami rolls on a pick, grapes, a small container of Kasugai Roasted Green Peas, a hard boiled egg shaped like a car and dyed purple, and finally 2 orange wedges. He loved it!
